Success is ageless, age is truly just a number when it comes to pursuing our dreams and passion. To achieve a goal you have to be willing to work hard, learn a lot, and be consistent. To achieve something you have to put your mind to it, you can do it. You need to persist when things get tough. Anand Mahindra shared a tweet about a 94-year-old woman” When you hear the word ‘start-up’ it brings to mind images of millennials in Silicon Valley or Bengaluru trying to build billion-dollar ‘unicorns.’ From now on let’s also include a 94 yr old woman who doesn’t think it’s too late to do a start-up. She’s my entrepreneur of the year”. Read this blog on a career in Kimshuka Technologies by one of our outstanding employees, Sumangala.
After many years of my graduation, I got the possibility to start my career as a software developer at Kimshuka Technologies. I got an Internship at Kimshuka, gained knowledge and skills, and learned to put them into practice.
Eligibility for an internship at Kimshuka was to clear an assignment within a week. The first assignment for me was on REST API (Representational State Transfer - Application Programming Interface), which I was able to complete within that week. This helped me to learn about the API concept and design it according to the requirement given in the assignment. I was very fortunate to get an internship and gain experience. With the prevailing pandemic conditions, it was a very wonderful opportunity to have a virtual internship.
From the first week, my learning process on preparing for the working world started. I learned about APIs, databases, Git, and how to put my knowledge into practice. In the next weeks, updated my code with exception handling, implemented appropriate validation checks, learned TDD(Test Driven Development), Automated Unit Testing, extended the database, perform a soft delete, track the changes to the data in the database making me learn and implement all the lifecycle phases of a software development process. I also started to work on HTML, CSS, and typescript. We would interact with all the employees virtually once a week to track the status of the tasks given and I was guided for any mistakes or improvisations that enhanced my knowledge and skills. At the end of my internship, I was able to design and develop UI(User Interface) for my APIs in Angular and test them in Real-time. I am very thankful to Kimshuka for the chance of being a part of it.
I discovered that it's essential to be enthusiastic and open to learning new skills, requesting more work, and being curious to learn more. Asking for and receiving professional feedback is very important. It is essential to take note of both the positive and negative points for the future, so you can grow and excel in your career.
Impressed by my performance, the management decided to convert my internship into a full-time one. Now, I have the job that I love and I am excited to keep doing it for many years to come.
I would undoubtedly recommend if anyone is willing to join Kimshuka Technologies to excel in their career.
